Beowulf developed a passion for ecology at a young age, and began working with nature when he took a job as a steward for the Illinois Nature Preserve Commission. After 6 years of widespread agriculture work, he took a job as a choke-setter and chaser, where he gained experience with harvest systems, tools, and logistics.
Once he learned to rig and haul timber, Beowulf enrolled in Evergreen State College to study forestry, land management, botany, and applied engineering. His experience there rooted his work in ecology and science-based practices that increase productivity and forest health.
Beowulf has served Washington through consulting, mitigating hazard trees, and working on a crew that maintains trails in the Olympic Mountains. He began working as the sole proprietor of Brower Forestry in 2022.
